Mission

US Innovation Fund (USIF) promotes, protects, and accelerates U.S. commercialization, job creation, and innovation by providing U.S. companies with access to IP rights and investment capital. USIF intends to help create many thousands of U.S. jobs and generate many millions of investment capital into U.S.-based companies.

Investment Criteria

USIF is currently focused on enhancing competitiveness of U.S.-based technology companies by promoting and supporting the research, development, and production of products that incorporate one or more of the following technologies (“Targeted Technologies”):

  • Semiconductor technology
  • Cellular technology
  • WiFi technology
  • Bluetooth technology
  • Video streaming and coding technologies

 

 

Criteria for consideration as a USIF portfolio company

  • Within the past three years, the technology company has invested at least one third of its total investment capital for R&D, product development, and/or U.S. labor for the development of products that implements one or more of the Targeted Technologies.
  • USIF investments are earmarked to further enhance U.S.-based R&D, product development, manufacturing facilities, and/or U.S. labor for the continued development of products that promote one or more of the Targeted Technologies.

Benefits

Benefits as a USIF portfolio company

    • USIF portfolio companies will receive investment capital to enable it to accelerate its timeline for product development and enhancement, and further the company’s U.S.-based innovation, e.g., research, product development, and job creation.
    • USIF portfolio companies will have access to IP rights, providing it with freedom to operate in technologies covered by the IP rights, and a competitive advantage.
    • USIF will promote protection of portfolio company’s U.S.-based innovation, job creation, R&D, product development, and manufacturing.

About Us

Kent S. Petty
Kent S. Petty
Kent Petty is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in capital introduction, sub-advisory, investment management, product placement, patent monetization, and Intellectual Property acquisition and licensing.

Kent has worked for and consulted with investment banks, family offices, RIAs, and investment management and advisory firms. He spent over 10 years in the field of wholesaling investment products to regional broker dealers, independent advisory firms, and institutional asset managers. He has been involved in the placement of deals closed ranging from $1M to over $250M in equity, sub-advisory, private equity, and alternative and fixed income structures.

Kent holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University, which he attended on a full athletic scholarship, and an MBA from the Daniels College of Business, University of Denver.

Shaun McCabe
Shaun McCabe
Shaun McCabe is an executive manager with 28 years of domestic and international expertise in the energy sector, with specific expertise in project management, high-hazard operations, risk identification/mitigation, regulatory and legal affairs, and technology commercialization.

Shaun has led the oversight, review and operations of high hazard facilities, the development of complex greenfield projects encompassing significant technical, financial, legal and political challenges that include development of “first-of-a-kind” rules with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy, the Federal Railroad Administration and various state’s Department of Environmental Quality (including oil & gas operations-related).

He has held the role of president, general counsel, and executive vice president, reporting to both public and private board of directors, and has been responsible for capital budgets/projects of over $10B. He is a seasoned executive and brings a track record of successes with companies in need of executive management, strategic planning and development for new growth opportunities, or those facing reorganization or turnaround challenges.

Shaun holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas, a Juris Doctor from Case Western University, and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Marios Kallis
Marios Kallis
Marios Kallis is an executive with over 17 years of broad experience in investment and technology in both America and the UK, with operational and investment experience in startups, banking, and alternative investments.

Marios has advised clients and successfully led investments across venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and energy. He focuses on sourcing and structuring unique alternative investments for institutional and high net worth clients, and on helping to scale startups and growth companies. He began his career in London at an intelligence and analytics fintech startup.

Marios holds a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics and a Master of Science in Computer Science from University College London in the United Kingdom.
